Sao Paulo, 1960
Lives and works in São Paulo, Brazil.

Holds a degree in Visual Arts from Fundación Armando Alvares Penteado (FAAP) of Sao Paulo and a PHD of Universidad Estatal de Campinas, (UNICAMP) (2004).

Photography, performance, sculpture or installation are the tools that Beth Moysés uses to denounce the violence and helplessness of many women in the world. Committed to feminist activism, she has produced creative works with a strong social charge, such as the series of portraits of brides she produced at a collective wedding of women prisoners in a São Paulo prison.

She has carried out emblematic exhibitions and performances for some of the most important art centres in the world such as: Museo Nacional Centro de Arte Reina Sofía, Madrid, Spain; Museo DA 2, Salamanca, Spain; Instituto valenciano de arte moderno (IVAM), Valencia, Spain; Fundación Pilar i Joan Miró, Palma de Mallorca, Spain; El Museo del Barrio, New York, USA; the National Museum of Women in The Arts, Washington, USA.
